McCormick was an accomplished artist and singer from the age of 6. Her passion was to put on shows with puppets for the neighbors. When McCormick was six years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned to ask her if she'd like to go into show business. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first major role in 1964 in a tv commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for the show Wind It Up and It's Breaks in The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1200 kids to be the youngest of three twins in The Brady Bunch TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show lasted for five years. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the shows fifth season she almost lost her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. In the moment, she was 16, and he was 19. The two of us could have been in a romance, she said. The timing, however, wasn't just right.
