Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine, a Philadelphia native is a native of Philadelphia, and was raised in the city. Pam, her mother is a former back-up singer at Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, old, her father landed in the role of curator for Philadelphia's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the landmark historical building. In 2005, the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduates, she is a major in the area of vocal. Sullivan was a contralto in the children's choir . Later in the years later, she sang as an adult in the choir. Sullivan was not exposed to the world of secular music for the first time. "I was singing for the first time solo at church and a person asked me to commit to a gospel record when I turned 11. However, I was not ready for it," she says. At that time, McDonald's held a contest that was open to children living in cities. I was selected to perform "Accept the Grace of God" on the show Showtime At the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. She was just 13 when she performed along in a duet with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan was 15 when she was signed for the first time to Jive Records. The label recorded her an entire album, but the album wasn't released. Sullivan was eventually eliminated from the record label. The singer maintained a relationship with Missy Elliott and produced many of the tracks on her debut album, like the huge hit track "Backstabbers" composed by Timbaland and composed by Elliott.
